WGC 100 Centenary Garden

Garden to mark town’s centenary?

Letter from Caroline Baynes, WGC Centenary Foundation to Welwyn Hatfield Times

SIR – As summer beckons and inspires us to enjoy outdoor space, I am wondering if there are other like-minded readers who may share my vision to create an award-winning garden at RHS Chelsea to celebrate WGC’s centenary in 2020? I have in mind a garden themed ‘past, present and future’.

I believe that to have a garden at this internationally acclaimed horticultural show would be a fitting tribute and encourage tourists to visit WGC, whilst also promoting our ideal location for business and commerce.

Having been involved with the creation of Frankie’s Garden at St Francis of Assisi Church, WGC, I am encouraged by how community effort can make dreams possible.

If you are willing to help make my vision a reality, I would love to hear from you. Please email me at caroline.baynes@wgc100.org.
