A group of volunteers have been busy brightening up WFC train station with flowers.
The WGC Station Adoption group were joined by well-wishers to unveil the first of 12 plant troughs and to bid farewell to popular station manager Rovin Vaz, who is moving to a new post with Govia.
Organiser Lynda Cowan said:
“It was a lovely celebration of our work. It was great that Rovin could unveil the first planted trough before he left because he has been a constant friend and supporter of our efforts. Nothing was every too much for him.”
The remaining troughs, made from recycled scaffolding boards, will be filled over the next couple of months, with three on each platform. Lynda added: “We still need more volunteers to help with the watering, especially during the hot weather.”
