Join our team
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers in 2020 to help us with the celebrations marking 100 years of Welwyn Garden City. With over 100 events planned we have a large number of volunteer opportunities available so whatever your interests, skills and experience; and however much time you have to give, we hope to find the right role for you.
Experience is not necessary but you’ll need to be at least 18 years old.
Why get involved
Our volunteers have different motivations for volunteering; some are retired, others are students, and some are preparing to get back into work. What we all share is our love of Welwyn Garden City, and we enjoy getting out and meeting new people. So whether you are looking for a challenge, wanting to meet new people or acquire new skills, volunteering with the Welwyn Garden City Centenary Foundation in our 100th birthday year could be the answer!
We are very grateful to our ever-growing team of volunteers. Some have been working tirelessly for five years or more to deliver our signature projects.
More recent additions to our volunteer team have given invaluable support handing out balloons, postcards, badges and souvenir guides at our Howard Centre events, Wonderful WGC events hosted by the BID, Healthfest hosted by WHBC, the Game Fair at Hatfield House and most recently handing out our Souvenir Guide at the BID Christmas Lights switch on and our centenary launch event Garden City Lights. Our volunteers also helped direct visitors to the various light installations and encourage participation at the interactive displays.
