The designers and pioneers of Welwyn Garden City embraced public art and sculpture. We will showcase local artists and bring a collection of creative arts of international significance to the garden city for public display.

As part of the celebrations of the Centenary of Welwyn Garden City in 2020, there are plans being worked with the Henry Moore Foundation to bring one of their statues to the town.

The statue in question will be the large standing figure known as Knife Edge (see picture), preliminary thoughts being to position it in Parkway near the Fountain. Discussions are underway with the Henry Moore Foundation and the Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council to confirm final details.
